Our anointed Pastor, Bishop J. R. Horton, with the generous support of his lovely wife Lady Michelle Horton, founded Gospel Mission Temple of Davenport, on June 27, 1984 in the basement of their home. Because of it's continuous numerical growth, the Lord blessed our church to purchase 35 acres of land at an ideal location, 51st and Pine Street. Within a year, a beautiful spacious edifice was completed, valued at over 3 million dollars at 5074 North Pine Street.  As of January 2007, our edifice is valued at over 10 million dollars.

At this time, our Family Life Educational Center is completed and was dedicated  on September 26, 2003. It now facilitates a banquet/dining hall and fitness/recreational center. It, along with our existing building, is facilitating our Early Childhood Center, Christian Academy, and Evangelistic Outreach School of Ministries.
